Should you believe what you see?

The more I look at the stars the more I am convinced that we are fooled by their appearance. Literally! That is because we rely on one medium through which we see and perceive them....light. We track their movements, determine that the universe is moving or expanding because of the way we see light. What if the same light is a slave to a fabric through which it travels and it bends and loops in ways we dont understand. Then everything we perceive is a farce. Only when we can see the stars without using light but via some other methods will the real truths about the universe be revealed. Maybe it will prove that the universe is not expanding or contracting at all, in reality it is also spinning about a bigger center and from our point of view it looks as though it is expanding. Maybe there was no big bang or the universe did not begin but will end with a big bang. Who knows! Anything is possible when the only medium we rely on is tricksy! :)
