Everything ages….either through erosion by the elements we turn to dust…or the reactive elements in the atmosphere we rely on to live kill us slowly. We were never meant to be mortals cause evolution is necessary. We are built to grow and eventually whither away naturally, so that a better generation and a better being can exist in the distant future of evolution. We were made to rely on oxygen which gives us life to burn and generate energy to survive. And it is that which also burns and kills us slowly by creating radicles and oxidizes our bodies slowly. We are no different than the metals which oxidize in air like iron or silicon. The only difference is we continue to do so our entire life which is about 75 years on an average. But a metal oxidizes its outer most surface and it is that oxidized layer that keeps the metal inside from oxidizing forming a protective covering. In our case it burns us from the inside aging us and every cell of our body. Then what is the ultimate purpose I ask….well to support evolution is the minimal effort. Just to exist is our task. How we exist is more a concern for the human civilization than the whole scheme of evolution itself. The fact that we are still mortal proves that we are not the ultimate being, the final creation which exists forever and does not need evolution anymore. We are mortal beings being burnt by that which we need to survive just so that creation could evolve. The web is well spun …..well spun indeed! A glimpse into the grand scheme of things is exhilarating.
